Void Cube Puzzle
So remember how [person who told me about it] said it was like, "fill the colored cubes into their matching colored holes"? Man, that's like describing pizza as "bread with toppings." Like, technically true, but it misses EVERYTHING that makes pizza, well, pizza. This game is SO much more than that.
When I first started, I was like, "Okay, boring. Just a simple matching game." I put the first red cube in the red hole, easy peasy. Then the second one, same thing. But then, on the third one, I dropped the blue cube towards the blue hole and the WHOLE FLOOR JUST DISAPPEARED. Like, poof! Gone! And the cube just fell into nothingness. I literally gasped. I was like, "WHAT?!" That's the "void" part. It's not just about putting stuff *in* holes, it's about the holes, or the floor, or the walls, or *everything* just... not being there anymore. Or suddenly appearing!
It's really weird and cool. Like, you think you know what's going on, and then the game just pulls the rug out from under your feet. Or, like, the whole room spins and suddenly the hole you needed is on the ceiling. It makes your brain do these crazy flips. I don't usually like those super brainy puzzle games, your know, the ones that make your head hurt? But this one, it's different. It's confusing at first, for sure, like, "How do I even make this work?" But then you figure out one little trick, like, "Oh! If I stand *here*, that piece will fall *there*!" and it just clicks. And that feeling? It's really, really good.
I swear I only sat down to play for like, twenty minutes. Next thing I know, my cat is staring at me, judging me, and my phone says it's almost 2 AM. I was just stuck in this one part where you had to like, make the floor appear and disappear in a rhythm to get a cube across. It was so simple but so clever. I even recommended it to Sarah already, cause I just couldn't stop talking about it. Your gonna love it. Seriously, you gotta try it. It's fun.
